Quishuar Archaeological Site

Quishuar is an archaeological site in Peru's Ancash Region, Yungay Province, located in the southern Yanama District. Situated at approximately 3,200 meters above sea level in the Callejón de Huaylas valley, the settlement dates to 1000–1500 AD, with primary occupation during the 1400–1500 AD period corresponding to the Late Horizon and Inca expansion into the Andean highlands. The site features residential structures, public buildings, and carved stone elements typical of Andean pre-Columbian architecture, offering insights into the cultural dynamics of the region during the late pre-Columbian era.
