Puyupatamarca

Puyupatamarca (Phuyupatamarca) is an Inca archaeological site at 3,600 meters elevation along the Inca Trail in Peru's Urubamba Valley, known as 'La Ciudad entre la Niebla' (The City Above the Clouds). Built under Emperor Pachacutec in the mid-15th century, it features fifteen buildings, stone enclosures, stairways, agricultural terraces, and five small stone baths that maintain constant fresh running water during the wet season. The site served as both an urban center and religious site where agricultural products such as corn were cultivated.
