Templo del Sol

The Temple of the Sun (Templo del Sol) is an Inca temple at Machu Picchu, Peru [1]. Built of pink granite, the temple features windows aligned to the position of the sun on the solstices [1][2]. The structure was reserved for high-ranking Incas and used to pay tribute to the sun and various gods, including Viracocha [1].
