Huillca Raccay

An archaeological site in Peru's Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, situated southeast of Patallacta above the right bank of the Pampa Qhawa river near Chamana village. The site consists of 5 groups comprising 34 structures and served as a checkpoint along the Inca Trail. Its name derives from Quechua: willka (sacred, divine) and raqay (house, shed). Despite its association with the Inca Trail, the site corresponds primarily to the pre-Inca period.
