Huamanmarca, La Convención

Huamanmarca (Quechua for "Lands of the Falcon") is an Inca administrative complex in Huayopata District, La Convencion Province, Cusco Region, Peru, on the right bank of the Luq'umayu River. Discovered in 1961 by Maria Rostworowski, it was identified as a palace built by Inca Yupanqui and was known in the Colonial period as Condormarca. The site features an Ushnu, a pyramidal Inca structure used for major religious ceremonies, with finely carved stones comparable to those at Cusco's Coricancha.
