Tomb of Ali Mardan Khan

The Tomb of Ali Mardan Khan is a Mughal-era mausoleum in Lahore, Pakistan, built around 1657. The octagonal structure rests on a high podium in a garden setting, featuring high pishtaqs on each face, a prominent drum, and a double dome once decorated with inlaid precious stones and fresco floral patterns. Ali Mardan Khan was a Kurdish governor who defected from Safavid Persia to the Mughal court of Shah Jahan in 1637, surrendering Kandahar, and served as governor of Kashmir, Kabul, and Lahore. The tomb is now surrounded by railway property, accessible via a narrow 1,000-foot walled passageway from Mughalpura Road.
