PakistanA 2nd-century CE Buddhist stupa in the Kandag Valley of Swat, Gandhara, first recorded by A. Stein in 1930. The main stupa has a 17-metre square plinth and the remains spread across 1,500 by 1,000 metres. Radiocarbon dating confirms a 2nd-century construction date. Restored in 2011-2012 when 25% of the terrace was excavated, it is considered one of the best-preserved stupas in Swat, featuring a central cell with windows surrounded by a circumambulatory passage for worship.
