Chakdara

Chakdara has been an important center for the last 3,500 years and is littered with remains of the Gandhara grave culture, Buddhist sites, and Hindu Shahi forts [1]. The most important site in Chakdara is Damkot Hill [1]. The top of Damkot Hill has been excavated and houses with pottery and jewellery have been discovered [1]. At the foot of Damkot Hill at Salami, there is an early graveyard [1]. Early settlers buried partially cremated bodies surrounded by everyday utensils [1]. The graves were sealed by large stone slabs [1].
