Bylazora

Bylazora was the largest and most significant city of Paeonia, located near the village of Knezhje in the municipality of Sveti Nikole, North Macedonia. Mentioned by ancient historians Polybius and Livy, the site dates from the 6th to 3rd century BC. In 2008, a team led by archaeologist Boban Husenovski from the National Museum of Macedonia, with researchers from the Texas Foundation for Archaeological and Historical Research, discovered the main gate and fortification walls. Subsequent excavations of the acropolis unearthed a monumental ramp, defensive walls, extensive pottery, and a circular room of probable religious function within the Royal Palace.
