Mayapan

Mayapan was a major Pre-Columbian Maya city in the Yucatan Peninsula, serving as the political and cultural capital of the Maya from the 1220s until the 1440s [1]. Located about 2 km south of Telchaquillo in Tecoh Municipality, approximately 40 km southeast of Merida and 100 km west of Chichen Itza, the city contained over 4,000 structures [1].
