Stabian Baths, Pompeii

The Stabian Baths are an ancient Roman bathing complex in Pompeii, Italy, representing the oldest and largest of the five public baths in the city[1]. Located centrally at the intersection of two main streets, their original construction dates to approximately 125 BC, making them one of the oldest bathing complexes known from the ancient world[1]. The complex was remodelled and enlarged many times over the centuries, with improvements continuing up to the catastrophic eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD[1].
