Palma di Montechiaro

Palma di Montechiaro is a town in the province of Agrigento, Sicily, where numerous Greek archaeological findings of Magna Graecia have been discovered. The area was inhabited since ancient times, as confirmed by the presence of Sican tombs predating Greek colonization. The nearby Chiaramontano Castle, built in the mid-14th century on a rock overlooking the sea, is the only Chiaramonte castle with such a coastal position. The town lies close to the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento, one of the most significant testimonies of Greek civilization in Sicily.
