Necropoli di Realmese

The Necropolis of Realmese is an Iron Age burial complex located 3 km northwest of Calascibetta in the Province of Enna, central Sicily [1] [2] [3]. It comprises 288 rock-cut tombs [1] [4]. The site spans two phases: the Protohistoric period (9th century BC) and the Archaic period (6th century BC) [4] [5]. First excavated in 1949-1950 by Luigi Bernabo Brea, the finds -- ceramics, knives, rings, earrings, and fibulae -- are displayed at the Paolo Orsi Museum in Syracuse [4].
