Helorus

Helorus (modern Eloro) was an ancient Greek colony of Syracuse founded in the late 8th century BC on the southeast coast of Sicily, connected to its mother city by the Via Elorina [1] [2] [3] [4]. Major discoveries include the Colonna Pizzuta, a 10.5-metre monumental column from the 3rd century BC [2] [5]. The city fell to Rome in 214 BC during the Second Punic War [1] [6].
