Porta Nord Acropoli

Porta Nord Acropoli is a 5th-century BC temple complex and acropolis in the Selinunte Archaeological Park, located on a hill between the Modione and Cottone rivers where the ancient port was situated[1]. The site features fortifications winding around the acropolis in square blocks, restored multiple times, with walls interrupted by towers[2]. After the city's destruction in 409 BC, civil houses were small buildings with doors facing the street and façades measuring 4 to 9 metres[2]. Selinunte was a wealthy Greek colony of Magna Graecia on Sicily's southwestern coast[1].
