Tivulaghju

Tivulaghju is a megalithic site in the commune of Porto-Vecchio, Corsica, first excavated in 1960 by Roger Grosjean and Jean Liegeois. The site contains megalithic cists (stone-lined burial chambers) initially attributed to the 3rd millennium BC, but revised dating now places them in the Middle Neolithic, around the mid-5th millennium BC. These cists, along with those at Vasculacciu, formed the basis for establishing the chronology of Corsican megalithism. Comparable monuments found in both Corsica and Sardinia confirm a cultural relationship between the two islands during the Neolithic period.
