Pughjaredda

Pughjaredda (also spelled Poghjaredda) is a megalithic archaeological site in the commune of Sotta, southern Corsica, dating to the Middle Neolithic period (ca. 5000-4000 BC). The site features dolmens, menhirs, and stone circles, along with evidence of domestic dwelling and funerary activities. Studies at Pughjaredda have provided key insights into Corsican-Sardinian megalithism, revealing structured pastoral and village spaces that illuminate the socio-economic context behind megalithic site placement in prehistoric Corsica.
