Paddaghju

Paddaghju (also known as Palaghju or Palaggiu) is a megalithic alignment site in the commune of Sartene, southwestern Corsica. Dating back approximately 4,000 years to the late Neolithic or early Bronze Age, it contains 258 megaliths and 70 menhirs arranged in rows typically running north to south. It is the largest array of menhirs and megaliths in the Mediterranean region, historically known as Campu di i Turchi (Cemetery of the Turks). Corsica ranks as France's second department for recorded menhirs, and the Palaghju alignments are among its most studied prehistoric sites.
