Monte Lazzu

Monte Lazzu is a Neolithic archaeological site on the heights of Tiuccia near Casaglione in western Corsica, France, commanding views over the Liamone plain and the Gulf of Sagone. The site is famous for its ancient stone millstones, vestiges of the island's first farmers, and attests to human occupation linked to the exploitation of the fertile lands at the mouth of the Liamone River. A rock shelter on the site was also used as a tomb and contained metalwork dating from the early Iron Age.
