Toothill Fort

Toothill Fort is an Iron Age univallate hill fort situated on a spur in Hampshire, England[1]. The site occupies an exceptionally strong defensive position at the northern end of a ridge, utilizing natural topography to enhance its fortification[1]. Its earthworks consist of a single rampart and ditch system, with traces of a counterscarp bank visible in certain sections[1]. The northern side, where an additional scarp rises up to 2.0 metres in height, represents the fort's weakest point[1]. The original entrance was positioned onto the ridge to the south, controlling access along the hilltop[1].
