St Catherine's Hill, Hampshire

St. Catherine's Hill is a chalk downland hill in Hampshire topped by an Iron Age hillfort (c. 500–300 BC), a Scheduled Monument. The 43‑hectare (110‑acre) site is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest, owned by Winchester College and managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. During the Black Death, plague pits were dug in the dry valley on the hill's south side. In the Early Modern period, a mizmaze was cut on the hilltop.
