Morgan's Hill Enclosure

Morgan's Hill Enclosure is a scheduled monument on Morgan's Hill southeast of Calne, Wiltshire, England, approximately 130 m north of the Wansdyke. The square earthwork, aligned west-east, has sides of 180 m enclosing about 3.25 hectares, with a low bank and outer ditch. Limited excavation in 1909 found medieval surface pottery but nothing to date its construction. Such enclosures in the Avebury area are associated with agricultural use from the Neolithic to Romano-British periods, possibly as stock pens or crop enclosures.
