Conygar Hillfort

Conygar Hillfort is a small multivallate Iron Age hill fort located in the North Somerset district of Somerset, England, approximately 0.8 km (0.5 mi) south of the village of Portbury near Bristol and the M5 motorway [1]. Dating to 1500–500 BC, the triangular-shaped fort features multiple defensive ramparts with the remains of a 0.9-metre (3 ft) high bank on the southwestern side [1]. As a Scheduled Ancient Monument, it represents a significant example of Iron Age defensive architecture in southern Britain [1].
