Cleeve Toot

Cleeve Toot is an Iron Age univallate hillfort above Goblin Combe in Cleeve, Somerset, designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The roughly oval enclosure measures approximately 125 by 90 metres, defended by a single stone rampart with a broad shallow outer ditch. Pits found at the site indicate the presence of round houses. A smaller settlement 150 metres to the north is thought to have been a satellite community of nearby Cadbury Hill. The site, in recently cleared post-WWII plantation woodland, remains largely unexcavated.
