Kastros is an early Neolithic settlement in Cyprus, dating to approximately 8000 BC, making it one of the earliest known permanent settlements on the island [1]. Located at the north-easternmost tip of the Karpasia Peninsula (Cape Apostolos Andreas), the site lies about 4 km north of the Apostolos Andreas Monastery [1]. The settlement occupies a small plateau on the steep flank of a limestone promontory, situated roughly halfway between the peninsula's main plateau and the sea, in a highly inaccessible location [1]. French archaeologists conducted three excavation campaigns at the site between 1970 and 1973 [1].
