House of Dionysus

A luxurious Roman villa in the Paphos Archaeological Park, Cyprus, built at the end of the 2nd century AD and destroyed by earthquakes in the early 4th century. Covering 2,000 square metres, about a quarter of the floor area features mosaics depicting mythological scenes including the triumph of Dionysus riding a panther, Ikarios and the shepherds, and Pyramos and Thisbe. At the entrance lies a Hellenistic pebble mosaic of the sea monster Scylla, belonging to an earlier building and representing the oldest mosaic floor in Cyprus. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage Paphos complex.
