The town and its surroundings feature several castles and manor houses of historical importance, including Burg Rabenstein, Schloss Weyer, and Schloss Neu-Pfannberg. Many buildings near the main square date to the 15th-16th centuries and formed part of a fortification system. The area also preserves an old Roman bridge and ancient water supply infrastructure, attesting to settlement dating back to the Roman period.
