Butkara Stupa

The Butkara Stupa is a significant Buddhist monument near Mingora in Swat Valley, Pakistan. Originally possibly commissioned by Emperor Ashoka, it is now generally dated to the 2nd century BCE [1]. Archaeological excavations have yielded numerous artifacts including coins and Kharosthi inscriptions, with discoveries dating to around 2,000 years ago [2].
