(1st c. AD) The Roman Bridge at Vaison-la-Romaine is an ancient stone bridge spanning the river Ouvèze in the town of Vaison-la-Romaine, France. Constructed by Romans in the 1st century AD, it features a single arch measuring 17.20 metres (56.43 ft) in span [1]. Remarkably, this bridge remains in use for pedestrian traffic today, making it one of the oldest continuously used Roman bridges in the world [1]. The structure has withstood severe flooding events that destroyed more recent bridges nearby, demonstrating exceptional Roman engineering durability [1].
