South Stoa I, Athens

The South Stoa I was a two-aisled stoa on the south side of the Athenian Agora, situated between the Aiakeion and the Southeast Fountain House [1]. Built at the end of the 5th century BC, the stoa probably served as headquarters and dining rooms for various boards of Athenian officials [1]. It remained in use until approximately 150 BC, when it was replaced by South Stoa II [1].
