Oxkintok is a major pre-Columbian Maya city in the Puuc region of Yucatan, Mexico, first inhabited during the Middle Preclassic period (500-300 BC) and reaching its peak during the Early Classic era (300-550 AD). The site spans 953 hectares with 39 structural groups connected by ancient roadways. Its most famous structure is the Satunsat (Labyrinth), a unique three-level vaulted building possibly representing Maya cosmology. INAH confirmed Oxkintok as a Rank 1 major Maya city, with 977 structures detected via LiDAR technology.
