Hen Gaer

An Iron Age hillfort near Bow Street, Ceredigion, Wales, also known as Broncastellan or Caer Shon. Though smaller than a typical tribal fortification, it features massive construction with a single rampart approximately 12 metres wide and 3-4 metres high, complemented by a rock-cut external ditch. Carefully laid stone blocks of the original rampart wall remain visible on the northeast side. The enclosed area extends onto the southern hillslope, possibly to make the fort visible from the narrow valley below at the confluence of Afon Stewi and Nant Seilo.
