Metropolis is an ancient city in western Turkey near Yeniköy village, approximately 40 km SE of İzmir. Occupation at Bademgediği Tepe dates back to the Neolithic period [1]. In the Late Bronze Age, the city was known as Puranda under the Hittites [1]. Excavations have revealed a theatre, bouleuterion, stoa, latrina, bath-gymnasium complex, and houses with atrium and peristyle, representing Classical, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman periods [1].
