Alabanda

Alabanda (or Antiochia of the Chrysaorians) was an ancient Carian city in Anatolia, located near modern Doğanyurt, Çine, in Aydın Province, Turkey [1]. The site features notable remains including a theatre with massive carved pillars from the Hellenistic period [2]. While excavations have uncovered architectural fragments, very few inscriptions have been found at the site [3]. The city was situated in the historical region of Caria, which lay between ancient Lycia and Ionia, reflecting the cultural blending typical of southwestern Anatolia.
