Wildkirchli

Wildkirchli (German for 'Wild Chapel') are three interlinked caves in the Alpstein massif, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Switzerland, northeast of Mount Säntis at 1,477–1,500 m elevation. The caves contain evidence of Neanderthal habitation from c. 40,000 BP and cave bear bones dating to 90,000–40,000 BP. A museum on-site displays a complete bear skeleton found in the caves.[1]
