Petinesca

Petinesca is an archaeological site at Jensberg hill in Studen, Canton of Bern, Switzerland, spanning over five centuries of Celtic and Roman occupation. It began as a Celtic oppidum with impressive ramparts and developed into a prosperous Roman town that served as the economic and religious centre for the Seeland region. Key features include a port, artisan neighborhoods, fortified town entrance, baths, a guest house, and a Gallo-Roman temple sanctuary. Archaeological finds, including a terracotta dog figurine from c. 200 AD, are displayed at the NMB Neues Museum Biel.
