Passeig Arqueològic

The Passeig Arqueologic is an archaeological promenade along the ancient Roman walls of Tarraco (modern Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain), part of the UNESCO World Heritage Archaeological Ensemble of Tarraco. Built in the 2nd century BC, the walls originally extended 3,500 metres; approximately 1,100 metres survive today. The lowest layers of megalithic foundations date to the pre-Roman Iberian period, making them the oldest preserved Roman military engineering outside Italy. The Minerva Tower contains the oldest Roman sculpture and inscription on the Iberian Peninsula.
