Ponte de Rubiães

A Roman-medieval bridge spanning the River Coura in Rubiaes, Paredes de Coura, northern Portugal. Part of the Portuguese Way of St. James, the bridge retains Roman voussoirs near the left bank from the 2nd century AD, while the superstructure dates to a medieval reconstruction, likely the 12th century with Romanesque characteristics. The three-arch granite structure originally served the XIX Roman Military Way, providing passage for legions traveling from Bracara Augusta toward Astorga.
