Castro of Monte Mozinho

The Castro of Monte Mozinho, known as the "Dead City," is a fortified settlement [1] [2]. It was founded between the late 1st century BC and early 1st century AD and occupied until the 5th century [2]. Excavations beginning in 1943 and resumed in 1974 uncovered coins, ceramics, glass, agricultural tools, and jewelry [1] [2]. An interpretive center opened in 2004 [1] [2].
