Huankarán

Huankarán is a pre-Columbian necropolis and tomb complex located in the Huánuco Region of Peru, dating to the period 1200-1500 AD.[1] The site features a distinctive rectangular stone tower, several residential structures, and numerous chullpas—circular stone tombs characteristic of Andean funerary architecture.[1] Situated in the Tantamayo District of Huamalíes Province, the complex reflects the burial practices and social organization of the region's pre-Inca cultures.[1]
