Lamay

Lamay is an ancient Maya architectural complex forming part of the larger Dzibanche settlement in southern Quintana Roo, Mexico, about 1.1 km northwest of the main group. The complex features a large, high platform base supporting several multi-chambered buildings, with the main building dividing others between two terraces. During the Early Classic period, temples and elite residences were constructed at Lamay as Dzibanche became a major political center linked to the Kaanu'l (Serpent Kings) dynasty. The complexes are connected by sacbeob causeways up to 2.5 km long.
