Pallanum - Mura Megalitiche (Paladine) di Pallanum

Pallanum is an archaeological site on Monte Pallano (1,020 m elevation) near Tornareccio in Abruzzo, Italy, featuring imposing megalithic walls in polygonal masonry dating to the 5th-4th century BC. The defensive wall extends 160 metres along the eastern ridge, reaching five metres in height. The site preserves remains of the ancient Frentani people, mentioned in an important Oscan inscription, with evidence of habitation from the Neolithic through the Hellenistic-Roman period. Excavations by the local Archaeological Office and the University of Oxford have investigated the settlement near Fonte Benedetti.
