Museo Campano

The Museo Provinciale Campano di Capua (commonly called Museo Campano) is a provincial museum in Capua, southern Italy. Established in 1870 and opened to the public in 1874, it is located in the historic Palazzo Antignano. The museum focuses on ancient Italian civilization in Campania and houses an extensive collection of matres matutae ritual statues from the ancient Roman site of Capua antica. It also contains the second largest lapidarium in the region, after the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.[1]
