Adullam Grove Nature Reserve

A nature reserve south of Beit Shemesh in central Israel containing extensive archaeological remains spanning the 10th century BC to 4th century AD. The site of Khirbet Midras features a stepped limestone burial pyramid, the largest preserved pyramid-topped mortuary complex from the Second Temple era in Israel. Underground networks include burial caves with rolling stones, a columbarium, and hiding tunnels carved during the Bar Kokhba revolt (132-135 AD) against Rome. Horvat Ethri preserves a Jewish village with mikvehs, a synagogue, and wine presses.
