500 BC – 550 AD: El Tintal is a Maya archaeological site in the northern Petén region of Guatemala, located about 25 km northeast of Carmelita.[1] It is the second-largest site in the Mirador Basin, after El Mirador itself, and ranks among the four largest sites in northern Petén.[1] El Tintal was linked to El Mirador by a causeway.[1]
