The Pont Ambroix was a 1st-century BC Roman bridge in southern France, part of the Via Domitia, crossing the Vidourle river at the ancient settlement of Ambrussum between modern Gallargues-le-Montueux (Gard) and Villetelle (Herault). Originally an eleven-arch stone structure over 175 metres long, built c. 30 BC to replace an earlier wooden bridge, it has suffered progressive collapse over centuries. Anne Rulman sketched four remaining arches in 1620, Gustave Courbet painted two in 1857, and the tenth arch was swept away in September 1933, leaving only a single arch standing in the river today.
