La Ferté-en-Ouche

A commune in the Orne department of northwestern France containing Neolithic megalithic monuments classified as Monuments Historiques. The site includes a menhir at Glos-la-Ferriere (ref. PA00110813) and a dolmen at La Ferte-Frenel (ref. PA00110805), both dating to the Neolithic period around 3000 BC. The commune also preserves several later historic structures including the 19th-century Chateau de La Ferte-Frenel, the 18th-century Chateau du Boele, and a 12th-century church at Douet-Arthus, giving the area a layered archaeological heritage spanning thousands of years.
