Prideaux Castle

Prideaux Castle is a multivallate Iron Age hillfort atop a 133m conical hill near Luxulyan in Cornwall. The quadrivallate defences consist of four concentric ramparts and ditches, with rampart heights ranging from 1.3m to 2.7m, enclosing approximately 0.81 hectares. Interior finds include flints, slingstones, a stone axe, and pottery sherds. As a small multivallate hillfort, it is regarded as a high-status permanent settlement. The site lies near the ancient tin trade route later known as the Saints' Way, connecting it to Cornwall's stannary economy.
