Trippet Stones

The Trippet Stones is a Bronze Age stone circle on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, dating to approximately 2000 BC. The circle is 33 metres in diameter with eight upright granite stones surviving from an estimated original twenty-eight, spaced at regular 3.7-metre intervals. The tallest stone measures 1.6 metres. According to legend, the stones are petrified girls punished for dancing on the Sabbath, giving the site its name. The nearby Stripple Stones circle is visible along the horizon to the east-northeast.
