Black Head, Cornwall

Black Head is a headland at the western end of St Austell Bay, Cornwall, England, owned by the National Trust[1]. It features an Iron Age promontory fort with two massive parallel ramparts reaching 5.2 metres in height, accompanied by ditches 2.1 metres deep[1]. Faint traces of a third rampart are visible beyond the main defenses[1]. The site holds protected status as a scheduled monument[1]. Remains of a rifle range built in the 1880s are also present on the headland[1].
